Marsh chief wants more support for future leaders

Marsh McLennan President and CEO Dan Glaser says the insurance industry should promote opportunities for the next generation of leaders to meet “ever-changing” challenges.

“Attaining new levels of societal resilience in response to an escalating risk environment will require future leaders to reach new heights for clients and society at large,” Mr Glaser said in London ahead of the group’s Rising Professionals Global Forum.

“As an industry, we need to amplify our talent’s potential and enable their ambition , two things we are committed to doing for our people at Marsh McLennan.”

The two-day forum gathered over 800 young insurance aspirants from 65 industry companies to learn from expert speakers and senior insurance organisation executives.

“When you look at the scale and potential impact of the societal issues being addressed during the Forum, including climate change, cyber risk, and pandemics, the intensity of the risk environment our rising professionals face is considerable,” Marsh McLennan Group President and COO John Doyle said.

“Empowering these individuals and grounding them in the technical capabilities that underpin the insurance marketplace will help them innovate solutions that enable clients to tackle these perils effectively.”

The forum’s theme – “Navigating an extraordinary world” – focuses on providing the next crop of leaders with essential information about key industry issues.
