Lloyd’s veteran takes up Singapore regulatory role

Lloyd’s regulatory expert Kim Swan has been appointed Regional Regulatory and Compliance Manager for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore.

Ms Swan relocated from London, where she was senior manager for international regulatory affairs, to take up the position this month.

“This newly created role supports Lloyd’s Vision 2025 market development priorities in Asia and will co-ordinate the activities of Lloyd’s strong regulatory and compliance team in Asia-Pacific,” the market says in a statement.

“[Ms Swan] brings a wealth of experience in both regulatory affairs and knowledge of the Asia-Pacific region, having worked at Lloyd’s for 15 years.”

Vision 2025 is Lloyd’s plan to be the global centre for specialist insurance and reinsurance within nine years, with expansion into emerging Asian markets a key part of the strategy.

Ms Swan was Lloyd’s general representative for Hong Kong from 2012-14.

She joined the London office of Lloyd’s Japan Inc in 2000 before moving to the international regulatory affairs team with responsibility for Asia-Pacific and Africa.
