Lloyd’s rolls-out interface to assist electronic placement

Lloyd’s has released a new application that will help brokers and underwriters placing business electronically as the marketplace moves forward with its transformation program.

Atrium Underwriting will be the first to adopt the application program interface (API), developed by Lloyd’s in collaboration with placing platform PPL and services supplier Limoss.

APIs benefit brokers and carriers by enabling them to work from their own systems, reducing the need for double entry of data and documents.

The launch is part of the Future at Lloyd’s project which aims to accelerate technological advances, reduce costs and make the market more efficient

“Our vision is to deliver a single screen for underwriters with no logging in, no copying and pasting, no duplicate or manual entry – everything inter-connected from within the Atrium software ecosystem,” Atrium CIO Justin Emrich said.
