Lloyd’s names legal chief as CRO

Lloyd’s has appointed its head of legal, regulatory and government affairs, Sean McGovern, as Chief Risk Officer. 

He will join the Lloyd’s Franchise Board, which is responsible for management of the market and oversees syndicates’ underwriting and risk management activities.

Mr McGovern has been a Lloyd’s director and the general counsel since 2002, having joined the market in 1996. He will remain in these posts.

External activities include roles as a non-executive director of TheCityUK, which promotes the British financial services sector, and of Xchanging Insurance Services, which provides processing services to the London insurance market. He is also a member of the US Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance.
