Lloyd’s has been granted a licence to write business in Portugal.
Syndicates in the specialist market giant will now be allowed to appoint coverholders to write business in the region.
Lloyd’s says it wrote £17.6 million ($35.7 million) of non-life gross premium last year originating in Portugal, which is Europe’s ninth-largest domestic general insurance market.
