Lloyd’s commercial chief Vandendael to leave

Lloyd’s Chief Commercial Officer Vincent Vandendael is leaving after six years in the role, to take a senior position with Everest Insurance next year.

Mr Vandendael has been responsible for all business development and has promoted innovation at Lloyd’s. He has also been key in establishing a Brussels subsidiary following the UK’s Brexit vote.

CEO Inga Beale says Lloyd’s international network has flourished under Mr Vandendael’s leadership.

“We have seen strong and steady growth in established territories such as the US, while building and developing Lloyd’s presence in China, Dubai and Singapore,” she said.

The market has also won licences for countries including Columbia, India and Morocco.

Lloyd’s says its Brussels plans are well advanced and Mr Vandendael will transition his responsibilities over the coming months. His leaving date is to be confirmed.

At Everest, Mr Vandendael will be International Insurance CEO.
