Lloyd’s appoints new global director

Lloyd’s has appointed former Zurich CEO of Global Corporate Asia-Pacific Vincent Vandendael as Director, International Markets.

Based in London, he will oversee the development and management of all Lloyd’s operations outside North America.

Lloyd’s CEO Richard Ward says the appointment comes as the market aims to cement its position as the global centre for specialist insurance and reinsurance.

“The international insurance experience Vincent brings, in particular from the fast-growing Asia-Pacific economies, will be invaluable to us,” he said.

Mr Vandendael joined Zurich in 1994, initially leading the financial lines team in the Benelux region. He had earlier worked at Chubb.
