Lift your game, UK brokers tell insurers
A UK Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) survey has found major UK insurers have plenty of room for improvement – at least as far as brokers are concerned.
The survey asked members to consider the performance of 11 major UK insurers with results collated on a scale of 100 to 500. Troubled European insurer Fortis (389) and church-based insurer Ecclesiastical (381) achieved the highest ratings, while Axa Insurance was last past the post with a score of 292.
IIB CEO Barbara Bradshaw says while insurers generally provided acceptable service, none of them was particularly impressive.
Common complaints included the use of foreign call centres, document delays and poor claims service.
“We are all part of the same industry and want to work with insurers to improve the service provided to consumers and businesses,” Ms Bradshaw said.
