Insurers count cost of Italy bridge collapse

The Genoa highway bridge disaster in Italy may cost insurers up to €600 million ($950 million) in losses, according to JP Morgan analysts.

Their best-case scenario puts losses at a minimum €400 million ($633 million). Property damage and business interruption are the key exposures.

JP Morgan says Talanx, Allianz and Swiss Re are among the insurers involved.

Swiss Re faces a €70 million ($111 million) bill, Allianz €50million ($79 million) and Talanx €20 million ($31.7 million).

The bridge collapsed on August 14 and killed more than 40 people.
