Insurance bills a priority in UK

Almost half of UK consumers consider payment of their insurance premiums are a top priority, according to an online survey.

Credit reference agency Callcredit says the research found 49% of consumers consider their insurance-related bills to be among the top four bills to always pay on time.

Utility bills (83%) are the number one priority for payment, closely followed by council tax (77%) and rent/mortgage payments (74%).

The research, which surveyed more than 2000 respondents aged over 18, revealed that consumers opt to pay insurance bills ahead of credit card payments (38%), internet charges (19%), and mobile phone bills (11%).
