IIS keeps tabs on top listed insurers

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has launched the IIS 100 Global Stock Index Monitor, to give members detailed tracking of global insurance stock performance.

The quarterly index covers the world’s 100 largest life, non-life and composite insurers and brokers.

It is segmented by geographic region and industry sector, and insurance companies’ performance will be measured against the overall performance of the global equity market.

IIS Chairman Greig Woodring, who is also CEO of Reinsurance Group of America, says the index will be “an invaluable tool for insurance CEOs worldwide”.

When insuranceNEWS.com.au enquired which Australian insurance companies featured on the index, a New York-based spokesman explained: “Due to the fact that the global stock 100 index, which is based on market capitalisation, fluctuates, we do not publish the company list.”
