Hotelier settles on WTC damage
US hotel chain the Marriott Group has settled with its insurers for the destruction of one hotel and damage to another during the attack on the World Trade Centre towers on September 11 2001. The settlement came to a total of $500 million – $209 million of which was for post-2003 business interruption. With other damage and business interruption claims, the hotel’s final total insurance payout will be in the vicinity of $600 million.
