Gallagher retains its ‘most ethical’ title

Gallagher has once again been singled out for ethical business practices in an annual survey by Ethisphere.

Honoured for the ninth straight year, Gallagher was the only insurance brokerage among 132 businesses recognised for ethical practice across 21 countries and 51 industries.

Allianz life insurance was also named in Ethisphere’s “2020 World's Most Ethical Companies” list, as were US insurers MassMutual, The Hartford, Aflac, Allstate, Pacific Life and USAA.

The assessment process includes more than 200 questions on culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, governance, diversity and initiatives to support a strong value chain.

"Since our founding in 1927, leading with integrity [has been] a critical part of what has made Gallagher successful," Chairman, President and CEO Pat Gallagher said.

The global brokerage follows a code of personal and professional conduct called The Gallagher Way. which outlines 25 tenets that dictate the ethical decisions and actions of every employee.
