US insurance brokerage Arthur J Gallagher has appointed President and CEO J Patrick Gallagher Jnr to the additional post of Chairman.

He succeeds his uncle, Robert E Gallagher, who served as chairman for 11 years until his death in August.

Under Patrick Gallagher’s leadership, Arthur J Gallagher has grown from $US350 million ($460 million) in revenue in 1994 to $US1.5 billion ($1.97 billion) in 2005.
