Charles Whiteaway, executive director of specialist marine broker FP Group, has stepped down after 20 years with the company.

He says it has been “a privilege to have been part of FP’s growth story these last two decades”.

Mr Whiteaway was a founding member in 1994, when the company began with a small office in Hong Kong. It now has branches in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Beijing and Taipei.

In February UK broker and underwriting group Hyperion announced it had acquired a 55% stake in FP.
