Former UK civil service head joins Lloyd's
Lloyd’s has appointed former UK civil service head Mark Sedwill to its council and announced his election to the role of Senior Independent Director and Deputy Chair of Lloyd’s, succeeding Andy Haste.
The appointment of Mr Sedwill, a former cabinet secretary and national security adviser, has been approved by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on advice from the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments.
His appointment is still waiting for clearance from the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority.
“As one of the most respected figures in modern British diplomacy, and a former head of the UK civil service, [he] brings to Lloyd’s a unique and independent perspective as we deliver against our strategic priorities,” Chairman Bruce Carnegie-Brown said.
“His leadership on initiatives in the areas of governance, risk management, [environmental, social and corporate governance] and business transformation make him an excellent choice for this role.”
