Email campaign raises consumer awareness

The US Insurance Information Institute has launched an email campaign to help consumers ensure they regularly review their cover and have the right policies for their needs.

The Check20 program encourages people to sign up for regular emailed newsletters with information on home and motor insurance and financial planning.

Digital Communications Director James Ballot says the institute often receives questions from consumers about what is included in cover and how they can gain the best value.

“We devised Check20 to provide a steady stream of handy tips and helpful strategies to make insurance work better year-round, instead of just when people need to file a claim,” he said.

The newsletters aim to eliminate financial jargon and break down insurance concepts with an engaging approach that includes video and infographics.

The institute says people often review prices they pay for utilities and fuel, and Check20 encourages them to also spend time on their home, vehicle and life policies.
