UK-based underwriter Dual says its US and Latin American businesses will adopt the Dual name from October 1.

The underwriting arm of Hyperion Insurance Group operates in the regions under two brands, HSU and VK Underwriters (VKU), headquartered in Florida with offices in New York, Puerto Rico and Argentina.

HSU and VKU founder and CEO Bobby Vernon says the rebrand comes because “those names don’t communicate the kind and size of business that we are”.

“By rebranding our operations in North and Latin America to Dual we bring the group together in name and will be better able to articulate the collective strength in products, expertise and geographic reach of our operations,” Dual CEO Damien Coates said.

The move follows the merger of HSU and VKU operations into a fully integrated underwriting platform across the Americas.
