Cooper Gay to exit North America market

UK-based global reinsurance broker Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC) has announced plans to sell its entire North America business.

insuranceNEWS.com.au reported in September that CGSG’s reinsurance broker Cooper Gay was quitting the Australian market, with clients now being serviced from its London and Singapore hubs.

CGSC North America comprises wholesale broker Swett & Crawford and specialty managing general agencies JH Blades & Co and Creechurch International Underwriters, as well as a reinsurance broker.

The sell-off will exclude the Miami hub office for Cooper Gay’s Latin American operation, which will remain within the CGSC International business.

CGSC CEO Steve Hearn says selling the North American business will “best serve the long-term interest of our clients, employees and shareholders”.
