Consumers really do check, says survey
A US consumer survey has found that a high percentage of people claim to collect a lot of information (79.4%), evaluate facts and figures (76.1%) and read the fine print (82.4%) before making a financial services decision. The data from RR Donnelley’s FinSight Panel is based on responses from more than 10,000 people who participated in an online survey.
Some other interesting findings: Almost two-thirds of consumers surveyed use the internet to get more information about financial services providers, products and services; and 44.1% said they prefer to rely on a financial services company with a brand name they trust. And 42.3% said that they will switch financial services providers if they are dissatisfied.
