CGNU faces opposition over new name
Forget the Toronto-based Jewish lesbian collective named Aviva – now some big guns are ranging against CGNU’s change of name.
Like UK technology group Aveva, which is worried about potential stockmarket confusion. CEO Richard Langdon said investors have already voiced concerns over the similar names. “What happens if they tell their broker to sell shares in Aveva and the broker thinks they mean Aviva? It could result in a very costly mistake.”
British transport group Arriva has also opposed the name change. No response from CGNU as yet. The company is planning the name change later this year.
