BrokersLink widens its reach

International brokerage network BrokersLink has expanded its membership base to Slovenia, Serbia and Nigeria, and says its new incorporated company structure will deliver further growth.

BrokersLink started in 2004 in Portugal, with an initial focus on Europe. Members now include Australian-based PSC Insurance Brokers.

It has converted from being a non-profit association, with MDS, Crystal & Company, Filhet-Allard, Nova and Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford investing in the new holding company.

“BrokersLink is now a truly diversified global broker with a solid platform for revenue generation and growth,” Chairman Jose Fonseca told a company conference in Venice, Italy.

Recent new members include Prestige Insurance Brokers of Nigeria, AGD of Slovenia and Serbia and Jones Brown of Canada.

Loss adjuster Advanta has joined as a specialist service member.

The network manages premiums worth more than $US15 billion ($16.99 billion) and has more than 70 members in almost 100 countries.

In May it split the Europe, Middle East and Africa trading division into two separate regions to build closer relationships with local clients.

“This approach has proven very successful, but we need to continually refine our offering and approach to benefit from the huge potential presented by these regions,” Mr Fonseca said.
