Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance has gained a licence from Malaysia’s Labuan Financial Services Authority to provide non-life reinsurance, and has established an office in Kuala Lumpur.

It has named Gaithrie Nandrajog as Branch Manager and Koo Kang Wuu as Executive and Professional Lines and Business Development Manager in Malaysia.

“After putting down roots in Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau, we are pleased to further expand our operations in Asia,” Asia President Marc Breuil said.

“With the opening of our Malaysian office, we continue to deepen our underwriting and claims capabilities in the region.”

Mr Nandrajog and Mr Kang Suu both have more than 10 years’ experience in Malaysian insurance.
