Aspen reports Q2 loss
Aspen Insurance Holdings has reported a net loss of $US14.7 million ($19.86 million) for the second quarter, compared with a profit of $US75.8 million ($102.42 million) in the corresponding period last year.
The swing was caused by investment and foreign exchange losses.
Gross written premium increased 3.9% to $US853.8 million ($1.15 billion), setting a record for the second successive quarter.
The combined operating ratio was 97.4%, improving from 100%.
