Asia-Pacific revenues lift Aon

Aon Asia-Pacific region’s retail brokerage income was up 14% in the second quarter ending June 30.

The region produced retail brokerage revenues of $US140 million ($153.8 million) compared to $US123 million ($135 million) in the corresponding quarter last year.

Australia and New Zealand’s organic revenue growth for the quarter was up 3% but weak economic conditions in Japan and Thailand affected the region’s overall results.

Retail brokerage income for the Americas was $US616 million ($677 million), up 7%, and $US291 million ($320 million) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The broker’s total brokerage revenue growth was flat for the quarter, up just 1% to $US1.57 billion ($1.72 billion).

Aon CEO Greg Case says income from brokerage made a positive contribution to the bottom line during the June quarter, boosting the group’s operating income by 52% to $US305 million ($335 million).
