Global brokerage Arthur J Gallagher has reported a second-quarter profit of $US44 million ($49.2 million), up slightly from $US43.8 million ($49 million) from the corresponding period last year.

Revenue for the second quarter was $US459.5 million ($514 million), also up slightly from $US453.6 million ($507.6 million) in the second quarter of last year.

The company’s brokerage segment contributed revenue of $US347 million ($388 million) and earnings of $US37.4 million ($41.8 million), while the risk management segment contributed revenue of $US111 million ($124 million) and earnings of $US8.1 million ($9 million).
