Ardonagh has appointed former Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty regional executive Mark Mitchell to head the expansion of its business in Asia.

Mr Mitchell, based in Singapore, has 35 years’ industry experience, including 25 in the Asian market, and was AGCS Asia-Pacific CEO.

Ardonagh says he will work with group businesses Envest and Price Forbes to explore opportunities to expand their retail and wholesale broking footprints and develop new managing general agent capabilities.

“Mark’s deep knowledge of the Asia-Pacific market ... will allow us to identify and execute on the best opportunities to drive growth and create value for our clients and markets alike,” Ardonagh Global Partners chief investment officer Des O’Connor said.

“He will further strengthen our team and proposition in this exciting region, which is currently one of the fastest-growing insurance markets in the world.”

Next month, Ardonagh is expected to complete its acquisition of PSC Insurance Group, which has expanded in Hong Kong.
