Aon’s quarterly net income leaps

Diversified global risk company Aon is celebrating a rise in net income from continuing operations this quarter.

Second-quarter income jumped by $230 million compared to the corresponding period last year, according to its latest results. Net income was $57 million during the 2018 second quarter.

Total revenue rose by $45 million this quarter to $2.6 billion, compared to the previous corresponding quarter, driven by new business and retained policies across the portfolio, the insurer says.

Reinsurance revenue grew from $380 million to $420 million, with strong new business generation across Aon’s different global markets. Commercial risk solutions is stable at $1.17 billion, the same as the corresponding period last year.

Total operating expenses during the second quarter dropped 15% to $2.19 billion compared to the previous corresponding quarter.
