Aon targets $US115 billion US regional insurer segment

Aon has created a new business unit to better leverage the US regional insurer market, which writes more than $US115 billion ($167.5 billion) in direct gross written premium a year.

The newly formed Regional Insurer Group offers dedicated team members from all of Aon’s Solution Lines. It was established to drive profitable growth, capital management, operational efficiency and talent strategies at US regional insurers.

The new group has plans to expand globally.

Brad Melvin, the President of the new group, says US regional insurers “represent a significant subset of our industry”.

“We are increasing the value Aon can bring to this segment,” Mr Melvin said. “Through our Regional Insurer Group we are able to more closely partner with our clients, not only in risk transfer but also in other key areas such as retirement, talent, health, data and analytics.”
