Aon restructures its restructure
Aon Corporation has rejigged the cost estimates for its corporate restructure, saying it will spend an additional $US30 million ($39 million) on the strategy.
The company says newly identified information technology initiatives will push the final outlay to $US290 million ($377 million).
This will in turn boost total annual cost savings to $US190 million ($247 million), up from $US180 million ($234 million) at the last analysis. These savings should still be realised by 2008.
The news came as part of Aon’s results announcement for the first quarter of 2006.
President and CEO Greg Case says the company’s earnings remain steady, with net income at $US198 million ($258 million). The result is evidence that Aon will be a strong international force once the restructure is in place.
“Our first-quarter results reflect another step in realising the full potential of the Aon franchise,” he said.
