Aon launches Green Cover
Global broker Aon is following the new wave of green insurers by launching an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient insurance solution in its global property policy.
This follows the company’s commitment to become a signatory to the United Nations’ principles for responsible investment in July, designed to help investors consider the environmental, social and governance issues when investing.
The policy covers both environmentally certified and non-certified properties and commercial and industrial properties, and provides full reimbursement for the repair, replacement or upgrade of certified green building parts.
Under the policy, Aon will ensure that the materials and development of each property meet local mandates for green buildings in the US and the EU.
Environmental Services CEO Peter Breitstone says various obstacles exist in green building development for businesses, such as zoning, building code issues, and finding the right insurance coverage for their property.
