Aon cuts 750 staff in UK restructure

Aon will sack up to 750 of its UK staff in the next two years as part of a new restructure aimed at realigning the business around clients’ needs.

The company – which has about 6800 employees in the UK – said in a statement it has informed employees it will enter into consultation later this month, and the staff cuts will be achieved through “a mix of natural attrition and redundancies”.

CEO Greg Case says he’s making the move in order to “improve performance and achieve long-term growth throughout the group”.

He says most of the changes will be to the specialty and risk services divisions and in corporate shared services functions. “The restructure will also provide for the removal of any inefficiencies created by duplication of processes.”

Aon is also reviewing its property portfolio. The results of this review will be released as and when specific decisions are made.
