Another Greenberg re-emerges

Evan Greenberg has been appointed President of Bermuda-based insurer Ace, putting him in the prime position to succeed CEO Brian Duperreault.

Mr Greenberg’s appointment at Ace raises lots of questions about what might have happened had he stayed at the old firm with dad. Maurice is soldiering on after 35 years as the boss; Evan was President and CEO at AIG before abruptly quitting in November 2001 and moving to Ace.

Another Greenberg scion is also a high-profile player in the global insurance game. Jeffrey, who quit AIG in January 1999, is CEO of Marsh & McLennan, parent of the Marsh group.
