American International Group (AIG) has finally broken its way into the Chinese capital of Beijing in its own right.

The China Insurance Regulatory Commission has approved the bid by subsidiary company AIG General Insurance Company China to set up shop in the city.

The move marks the first step in AIG General’s expansion across China following its entry as a wholly owned foreign enterprise last September.
