… and sponsors climate change research
Munich Re has teamed up with the London School of Economics (LSE) to advance research into the economic effects of climate change.
As a corporate partner of the newly formed Climate Change Centre, Munich Re will spend nearly €4 million ($8.2 million) to sponsor an independent research program at the LSE for five years.
The research will focus on analysing the risks and opportunities of climate change in the insurance industry, along with product trends and economics of climate change in the finance industry.
One such climate-friendly insurance solution is Munich Re’s cover for the output of solar energy power plants.
