Ebix subsidiary Via.com will offer travellers ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ insurance in in Indonesia under a new deal with Cover Genius. 

Cover Genius Chief Business Officer APAC and EMEA Barney Pierce says 40% of consumers were not offered CFAR protection during their last travel purchase. 

“We are excited to join hands with Via.com to deliver embedded CFAR protection to global travellers and to expand our reach in south-east Asia to protect the customers of Via.com,” he said. 

“Should any travel hiccups occur, they are backed by our simple and efficient claim process with instant payments in local language and currency.” 

Via.com entered Indonesia in 2011 and also operates in India, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE. 

“Partnering with Cover Genius gives Via.com a unique value proposition for travellers booking through our portal and provides coverage needs that are dynamically generated based on itinerary details,” President Director Srinivas Murthy said. 

Co-founded in 2014 by CEO Angus McDonald and CIO Chris Bayley in Sydney, Cover Genius is now licensed in more than 60 countries. Its XCover platform is available at Amazon, eBay, Wayfair, Descartes, ShipRush and other global retailers.  

An XCover Go app for small-to-medium-sized businesses was launched in June 2022.
