Pop appoints new operations and finance chief
Pop Group Holdings, the owner of insurtech io.insure, has appointed Sergei Korol to the role of Chief Operations & Finance Officer.
Singapore-based Mr Korol was formerly Chubb Life Asia Pacific Region CFO, Metlife International Capital Strategy VP, AIG Global Foreign Ministry Benefits Manager and ACR Capital Holdings CFO. He was most recently Grab Financial Group MD.
“I am excited to be going back to my native industry,” he said. “Having grown up in insurance, and more recently ventured into the tech world, I believe that technology driven modernisation is the key to the industry’s continued relevance and that is best driven by those who know the industry well.”
Pop launched in 2018 and also owns M&A and financial lines specialist underwriting agency Fusion Specialty and operates in the Asia Pacific, US and Europe.
io.insure is an M&A and specialty insurance online marketplace. It connects customers, advisers, distributors and insurer partners, supported by personalised products, and a data and technology platform designed for white-labelling by partners.
“Sergei joins us at an exciting, opportune time, as we continue to grow our global footprint to deliver industry leading M&A tech and InsurTech solutions to key markets across Asia Pacific, US, the UK and Europe,” Pop Co-founder and Co-CEO David Rogers said. "With his guidance, we will build greater synergies across borders and teams.”
Pop says it continues to expand rapidly and build a strong client base worldwide. Mr Korol will manage future fundraising plans and capital structure, and support investor and strategic ventures.
“We are delighted to have Sergei join the POP team, as we continue to build on the strong growth momentum we have achieved over the past years,” co-founder and co-CEO of Pop Killian McDermott said. “With Sergei’s expertise in leading finance and operations functions, we are confident that we can further build efficiencies across Fusion and io.insure that drive top quality services that benefit customers, brokers, advisors and insurers.”
