Marsh backs Amazon digital insurance network
Marsh is supporting Amazon Insurance Accelerator, the digital insurance network set up by the e-commerce giant to help its third-party sellers acquire product liability protection.
The broker says it has curated a panel of insurers made up of Chubb, Harborway Insurance (underwritten by Spinnaker Insurance Company), Hiscox, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Markel, and Travelers to help create the online insurance network.
US-based sellers can now obtain quotes and purchase a policy via the network, Marsh said. Product liability cover is mandatory for third-party Amazon sellers after they reached $US10,000 ($13,600) sales in one month instead of three months.
“Product liability insurance allows Amazon sellers to focus on scaling their businesses, knowing they are protected should one of their products accidentally cause bodily harm or property damage,” US Affinity Leader Anita Sathe said.
“However, finding the right insurance policy at the right price - especially for new business start-ups - can be a daunting task.
“Amazon Insurance Accelerator makes it easy for sellers to obtain competitive quotes from reputable insurers that will stand behind their business and give them peace of mind.”
