Award-winning Pickering Transport Group has partnered with Sydney-based FreightInsure, which offers goods-in-transit insurance that is integrated into the freight booking process of Australia’s carriers.

FreightInsure says its solution allows consignors to cover their delivered goods against loss or damage in transit under pay-as-you-go “mini-policies,” and means Pickering can provide customers with solutions at highly competitive rates.

“Our partnership with them allows their customers to generate insurance quotes and purchase goods-in-transit cover in less than 45 seconds,” it said.

FreightInsure Co-Founder and CEO Simon Schwarz was formerly CFO at BizCover. Assetinsure provides capacity and Lombard Australia Holdings, the holding company of Assetinsure, last year backed the insurtech, which is part of FreightSafe Group.

Family-owned Pickering Transport, founded in 1954, was awarded Small Carrier of the Year at the 2022 Primary Connect Transport Safety Day for outstanding performance in safety, compliance and service.
