Insurtechs encouraged to attend Australia-UK FTA webinar

Austrade is hosting a webinar briefing fintechs on the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement on Wednesday, and insurtech Australia (IA) is encouraging insurance startups to take advantage of the session.

The webinar will explore what the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement (A-UKFTA) means for technology companies in both jurisdictions.

The agreement came into force at the end of May, unlocking increased two-way trade and investment.

Its services provisions, enhanced and new visa pathways, access to government procurement, and reduction of investment barriers will make it easier for Australian and UK tech exporters to do business in the respective international markets, and help attract foreign direct investment.

The webinar will explore key benefits and opportunities for the fintech and wider technology sector.

“At the end of these sessions Australian and UK businesses will understand the demand for tech solutions in each market, how the A-UKFTA can help you access these opportunities and support available for your company’s international expansion,” the organisers say.

Moderated by Fintech Australia Head of Community and Global Engagement Stu Keen, the webinar will feature Skyjed Founder and CEO Leica Ison and EY Director of Trade Strategy George Riddell.

It will be held at 5pm AEST on Wednesday. Register here.
