Insurtech Australia to host vehicle Ownership vs Access event on Wednesday

Insurtech Australia (IA) will host another hybrid industry future mobility event on Wednesday, the third in a series.

This week’s session will examine ownership of vehicles versus newer access models.

“With the rise in demand for more flexible car ownership models, how will this change impact our mobility systems and how we design our cities?” the program says.

The series is a collaboration between Stone & Chalk, RAA, IA and sustainable design firm Arup.

They say that over the past century, private car ownership has been pivotal to how cities have evolved, allowing access to increased employment, education and recreation. Now the market for transport vehicle ownership is changing, driven by new technologies and lifestyle preferences.

“With increasing demand for options to access cars without needing to own one, Mobility as a Service offerings – including shared user models and shared vehicles/technologies – are set to become commonplace. What needs to be improved for greater uptake and what impact is this going to have on our mobility systems and its users?” the program says.

Participation at the Wednesday August 17 event can be online or in Adelaide at Stone & Chalk, Lot Fourteen, North Terrace at 5.30-6.30pm ACST. Register here.
