Instabase, ARPC join Insurtech Australia
Insurtech Australia (IA) has welcomed new member Instabase and new ecosystem partner the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC).
San Francisco-based Instabase says its platform helps institutions transform unstructured data into structured data so that processes such claims processing can be automated. It was founded in 2015 by Anant Bhardwaj, an MIT computer science PhD student, and now has multiple US offices and operations in India and London.
ARPC says its IA partnership will ensure it stays up to date with the latest innovations in insurance technology to best support its insurer customers. ARPC operates a terrorism reinsurance pool and since the start of this month, also operates the new reinsurance pool for cyclones and cyclone-related flood damage.
IA has a number of upcoming events, including a virtual webinar this month with Open and Embedded Insurance Observatory on embedded insurance and what it means for the future of insurance. It will also consider the impact of the extension of the consumer data right in Australia to insurance.
On July 19, it will co-host a community event with Hollard on “Partnering: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” featuring Grappler and Entsia to hear of lessons learned and paths taken.
On July 20, experts from multiple disciplines and audience members will discuss the implications of electrifying and decarbonising transport, considering hurdles in the electricity grid and its integration. On August 24, Insurtech Gateway Australia and Envest will discuss the current status of ESG, the role of corporations in driving sustainability, and the critical role insurtech can play.
On August 25, IA will celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and businesses and discovering new talent that helped the Australian insurance industry grow and flourish.
