IAG New Zealand has extended its multi-year agreement with Google Cloud and its employees will be trained to use the tech giant’s data and artificial intelligence technology.

The insurer’s EGM of transformation Simon Pomeroy says claims and sales teams will be able to automate routine tasks, speeding up processes.

“We are excited by the opportunities the technology offers us,” he said. “We will be adding to our people’s skill sets by putting cutting-edge tools into their hands.”

IAG New Zealand will begin training its teams this month and expects to launch new use cases later this year.
