Hannover Re adds personality profiler BestFit to innovation hub

BestFit, which has customers in Australia, Europe and Israel, has been added to Hannover Re’s Equarium innovation platform.

Chaired by Theo Bouts, who was formerly Zurich’s CEO Insurance Mobile Solutions and COO Global Life and Allianz’s Head Global Life Unit, BestFit offers personality matching and product recommendations based on decision-making styles.

Headquartered in Gibraltar, BestFit says it delivers customer profiling by using tech to identifying customer personality traits, and product profiling by evaluating the "cognitive and emotional” scoring.

Insurers can benefit via personalisation, customer acquisition and satisfaction, and better branding, as well as encouraging behavioural change, innovation, staff empowerment, compliance and retention.

Australia employment firm WISE used BestFit to improve its applicant screening process.

"We built a short noninvasive digital questionnaire that bypasses the usual behavioural biases of job applicants, and provides a coaching report for the interviewer or the hiring company. WISE is now expanding the usage of this tool to all its offices throughout Australia,” BestFit said.

Hannover Re says its Equarium platform, launched in 2019, is like a “dating service” to give insurers direct access to worldwide insurtechs. It offers more than 160 solutions in areas such as cyber, telematics and parametrics. Sydney-based SanctionsCheck.co is among companies to join the hub.
