Geoscience Australia will offer FloodMapp tools to state and federal government agencies.

FloodMapp says its ForeCast, NowCast and PostCast products will enhance flood preparedness, response and recovery across the country.

“I'm thrilled to announce ... that FloodMapp was selected by the Australian government to provide national live flood intelligence,” CEO and co-founder Juliette Murphy said.

“As an Aussie tech company, we’re proud to help Australia build disaster resilience and safer communities.”

Flooding is projected to cause at least $525 billion in damage over the next 40 years, Ms Murphy says.

FloodMapp is used by emergency managers in Australia and the US to target evacuations, road closures, damage assessments and resource deployment.

Geoscience Australia is part of the federal government’s industry, science and resources portfolio.
