Fifth Intersekt fintech conference to be held in May

This year’s Intersekt conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne on May 19 and 20.

A Startup pitch night will also take place on May 18, while digital-only events are on offer on May 17-18 and 21.

IAG Firemark Ventures general partner Scott Gunther will present “From startup to scaleup: successfully connecting the startup with the corporate,” while Open founders Jason Wilby and Jonathan Buck will discuss “Embedded insurance – why brands are hopping into bed with Open”.

The gathering of Australian fintechs, hubs, policymakers, regulators, investors and advisers will feature international and national speakers, free workshops and extensive networking opportunities with multiple social functions.

Hosted by FinTech Australia and supported by the Victorian state government, Intersekt 2021 says it “serves as a melting pot between the banking sector and the fintech industry, aiding in overall collaboration in the industry”.

The conference will feature 12 roundtables, digital events and meeting opportunities with industry facilitators such as Austrade.

Industry dinners, a women in fintech breakfast event, and networking drinks will also be enjoyed by attendees.
