EXL names new Chief Digital Officer

Nasdaq-listed EXL has promoted Anand “Andy” Logani to the role of Chief Digital Officer, responsible for EXL’s digital business, which helps insurers achieve better business outcomes with data, analytics, AI and cloud.

Mr Logani, formerly Head of Life Insurance, has been with EXL for more than 22 years and has helped build its life and annuity insurance business into an award-winning industry leader.

He recently told insuranceNEWS.com.au during a visit from New York the Australian operation would become “five times the business it is today” in coming years. After establishing an operation here six years ago, Australia has grown to be EXL’s fastest growing geography, he said.

Mr Logani will lead EXL’s digital strategy and execution, including implementing cutting-edge technologies and creating new digital products and services.

CEO Rohit Kapoor says he brings a wealth of expertise leading customer data and technology transformation initiatives across the company, and has the knowledge to “bring the entire strength of EXL to integrate and align our digital initiatives across our business units for our clients”.

“At EXL, we are transforming how businesses leverage data – enabling better business decisions, embedding intelligence in workflows, and streamlining operations to help our clients build robust, data-led enterprises,” Mr Kapoor said.

The data analytics and digital solutions expert has forecast revenue to rise as much as 13% to $US1.6 billion ($2.38 billion) this year. EXL says it won 59 new clients in 2022 – 31 in its digital operations and solutions business and 28 in analytics.

It highlighted growth in Asia Pacific and a focus on data-led solutions across insurance clients, and announced an alliance with EY to support digital transformation initiatives in insurance, financial services and health care sectors.

Mr Logani has developed strategic relationships with global insurance carriers and end-to-end commercial solutions with data analytics.

“EXL’s digital business is uniquely positioned for growth in the marketplace. We have developed pioneering, globally recognised digital solutions that cut across every area of our business and we’re just getting started,” he said.

“My close relationships with our clients and our amazing talent will help me hit the ground running and continue to build on our extraordinary growth trajectory.”

EXL, which already counts four top general insurers in Australia as clients, has 18,000 global staff supporting its insurance division – which makes up almost two thirds of its sales – and around 750 clients globally.
