Cover-More teams with BOXX on cyber protection

Zurich-owned travel insurer Cover-More has engaged Canada’s BOXX to provide its policyholders with cybersecurity support and insurance.

Cover-More’s World Travel Protection will now automatically benefit from the Cyber Assist service, which provides identity monitoring, assistance navigating digital threats, cybersecurity education, and tips and tricks for improving online safety.

BOXX CEO Vishal Kundi says cyberattacks and data breaches are “alarmingly common” and can disrupt operations, reputation and financial stability.

“Data-related risk transcends national borders and business travellers are high-value targets for criminals, with many carrying sensitive data, relying heavily on mobile devices, and moving about in busy airports and hotels with unsecured networks,” he said.

Cyber Assist was launched in Australia and is available globally as part of World Travel Protection’s product suite for business travellers. It guards against identity theft by checking if information has been breached, stolen or sold on the dark web.

In the event of a breach, the platform provides step-by-step guidance on how to resecure credentials, with training about cybersecurity “on the go”.

Travellers are vulnerable to data theft via unsecured Wi-Fi, phishing scams, compromised Bluetooth connections and other threats, but World Travel Protection says few business travellers take cyber safety precautions.

“With the rise of cyber threats targeting travellers, comprehensive protection is more critical than ever,” World Travel Protection CEO Adrian Leach said.

BOXX is based in Toronto and has offices in Miami, Zurich, Dubai and Mumbai.
