Cover Genius hires senior trio

Cover Genius has appointed new executives in the US and Netherlands as it aims to grow from 600 employees to more than 1000.

San Franciso-based Ann Watson has been appointed senior VP of people. She has previously led global teams at “high-growth companies” 8×8, Inc, Fandom, Varo, MasterClass and Verana Health.

“With Ann’s experience, we are in a great position to continue building our position as a leading global insurtech,” CEO Angus McDonald said. “Ann will be a great adviser to me and a supportive strategic partner to the business.

“Her dedication to facilitating talent, culture and strategy for growth companies will contribute to Cover Genius’ ongoing success.”

Amsterdam-based Russell Corbould-Warren has been appointed VP of insurance for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

He has held roles at Allianz and Zurich and was formerly Uber’s director of insurance for EMEA. Most recently he was Europe GM at payroll group Onsi.com.

Los Angeles-based Matthew Doris has been appointed VP of marketing. His experience includes roles at Google, Meta and Etsy.

Ms Watson says the embedded insurance business, founded in Sydney, is “in an important phase of growth as it nears its 10 years as a company, which means it’s time for a shift towards making it the employer of choice for new and experienced talent around the world”.
