Cover Genius will offer embedded “cancel for any reason” travel insurance via its XCover platform to customers of India’s MakeMyTrip under a new partnership.

MakeMyTrip offers air ticketing, hotel and accommodation bookings, holiday packages, rail and bus ticketing, car hire and visa processing.

Cover Genius SVP Strategic Partnerships APAC Barney Pierce says the new cancel for any reason offer makes it easier for travellers to cancel their reservation for an immediate refund “with no questions asked”.

Founded in Sydney, Cover Genius now distributes across 60 countries from 10 global offices. It set a new daily record of $US1.1 million ($1.7 million) in gross premiums late last year, with revenue almost tripling as it served 10.5 million customers.
